Sens - Sustainability & Energy Network in Staveley

About Staveley GTi

Even small changes to your journey can make a big difference to your life

Staveley Green Travel Initiative (Staveley Gti) is a community led project aimed at improving your quality of life by increasing awareness of alternative travel options and their benefits.

During 2011 South Lakes Action on Climate Change (SLACC) is running the Lakes Active Travel Project, promoting walking and cycling in the South Lakes, with a focus on Kendal, Windermere and Staveley. The project has three main strands - working with businesses to promote the South Lakes Workplace Cycle Challenge, working with Dr Surgeries to promote the health benefits of active travel, and working with schools to promote cycling and walking to school.

In Staveley, working in partnership with the Sustainability and Energy Network Staveley (SENS) as part of the Active Travel Project, the GTi website will be updated, a new GTi timetable will be updated and delivered to all households and the Staveley Car Club will be promoted.

You can download the report for the initial GTi project during 2009 and the follow on project during 2010 on the downloads page of this website.

Improve your Quality of life!

Choosing sustainable travel can have a noticeable impact on everyone's quality of life.  You could have more money in your pocket, greater leisure time, increased health and well being and more freedom of choice. We hope you will enjoy getting involved.

Yours sincerely

The Lakes Active Travel Team
