Staveley Car Club Staveley Car Club, run by Social Enterprise Commonwheels, is now up and running in the village. A Pergeot 306, parked at the recycling facility on Main St, is now available to use in the village on a pay-as-you-drive basis for £3.25 per hour plus 19p per mile or £27 per day (24 hours) plus 19p per mile. Residents can to join the car club for a one-off joining fee of £25. Members can book the car (internet, phone) for as little as an hour – walk up, unlock, drive, return, walk away – and get a bill at the end of the month. Car club cars are popular to replace occasionally used cars. Expanding the network
We are also looking to start a car club in three other communities in or near the Lake District (Windermere, Keswick and one other community).
