The damson orchard walls have now been repaired by a skilled waller, making them fully stock-proof once again.
This has been a significant piece of work, and we’re delighted that—thanks to sales of our damson jam and gin, along with generous contributions from the land owner, SENS, and the Parish Council, we’ve been able to cover almost all of the costs.
Our November 2025 damson orchard work party made wonderful progress clearing brambles and prickly sucker trees to prepare the space for sheep grazing. With one more push in the new year, we should have the orchard in great shape for grazing and much easier to maintain.
