On Sunday 10th May. Around twenty people enjoyed a memorable guided walk through Craggy Wood, held in perfect weather conditions that showcased the reserve at its very best.
The event was led by Reserve Officer Danni Metcalfe of the Cumbria Wildlife Trust, who guided participants through the woodland, sharing insights into its rich history as well as its diverse fauna and flora. Her engaging and knowledgeable commentary helped bring the landscape to life, offering a deeper understanding of the natural environment and its significance.
Feedback from attendees was positive. Danni was praised as “absolutely brilliant,” with participants highlighting her expertise, inclusive approach, and thoughtful attention to accessibility, ensuring everyone could fully enjoy the experience. Many also commented that her enthusiasm was both informative and inspirational, especially given that the walk was carried out as a voluntary contribution of her time.
The event was widely described as a highly enjoyable and enriching experience, leaving participants with a greater appreciation of Craggy Wood and its natural heritage.
